The Habitat program is the best way for us to own our own home. Because my wife and I had been pastors for 26 years, we had no money for a down payment, and there was no way we could buy a home. However, Habitat made it possible for us to buy a home by allowing us to work for our down payment.” – Sergio, Habitat Homeowner

Traditionally, a business or several organizations join together to sponsor a Habitat home. But for our 100th home, we want at least 100 people. People like you! At just $700 Per Sponsorship, you can help build Habitat’s 100th home and be a part of this historical event. All sponsor names will appear on the Home Sponsor sign at the construction site.

100th HOME

For the past 24 years, Habitat for Humanity of Smith County has been building homes with people in need. Our dream is a community where everyone has a decent place to live. Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to give back to your community and transform the life of one of your neighbors as we build our 100th home!

Habitat staff, volunteers and families usually take about 12 weeks to build a home. But for our 100th build, we’re partnering with Garrett & Associates to make it happen in only 100 hours! That’s right — we’re building our 100th home in just 100 hours! Don’t miss the excitement! Construction volunteer opportunities are limited and available only to home sponsors.

My dream has always been to own my own home, to be able to see where my money was going instead of throwing it away on rent.” – Melinda, Habitat Homeowner

Our partner families once lived in homes that were
• Without heat or air
• Mold infested
• Without plumbing
• In neighborhoods with drug and gang activity

Our partner families now live in homes that are
• Energy Star Certified
• Affordable (0% mortgage payments are less than what most homeowners had been paying for rent)
• Stabilizing forces in the lives of children and grandchildren
• In neighborhoods with other Habitat homes, providing community and support

My dream is for my children to go to college and make a difference in the world and to those around them, to encourage and help those in need.” – Eileen, Habitat Homeowner

We’re looking for at least 100 sponsor names. Each $700 gift will have a corresponding name printed on the sponsor sign at the construction site. If you’d like to give more than $700, please make your total gift a multiple of $700 and provide a name for each $700 increment. For example, if you’d like to give $1400, $700 could be in your name and $700 could be in honor of a child or grandchild. Memorial gifts are another way to make your sponsorship extra meaningful.

Sponsors can also be groups of people such as a Sunday School class, a Mahjongg or Bridge club, or a group of friends or neighbors.
